This venue finally opened in May 2018 after a protracted period of negotiation with Woking council. It is run by the Phoenix Cultural Centre in a former nightclub (Quake, also part of the HG Wells Centre) and has an initial license for two years. During the Covid-19 pandemic and due to the redevelopment of Woking, in early 2021 the venue relocated to a site near Woking train station (formerly the Bed Bar?).
